I attended MassBay community college. While there I studied special education and psychology. I have worked in 2 school districts for a total of about 7 years. I worked for the City of Newton at Horace Mann Elementary School for almost 4 years. While there I was a 1:1 aide/paraprofessional and a reading intervention specialist. I currently work for the City of Framingham as a 1:1 paraprofessional at the elementary level. I also work at a summer school program for the City of Framingham as a special education assistant in a sub separate classroom. I have worked in Framingham for 3, going on 4 years.
Experience
As mentioned above, I have worked in the special education field for about 7 years. I have worked in both an inclusion classroom environment and a sub separate classroom environment. I have worked in 2 different school systems during my time in the special education field. During the summers I also work at a summer school program for children with special needs to help them to not fall behind during the summer months. When I worked in Newton, as a reading intervention specialist, I helped to design and implement a reading program to help children with learning disabilities as well as children on the autism spectrum better understand phonics. The program was a huge success.

Hobbies
In my spare time I love to spend quality time with my husband and 12 year old daughter. We love going to the ocean and being at the beach. I also love taking my dog, Cody, for long walks to new places. Reading is one of my most favorite hobbies. I love to read any kind of book there is. My daughter and I also love to different kinds of arts and crafts projects together anytime we can.
